The lowest Part 1 pass rate we have checked
| BISE Rawalpindi, Inter Part 1 2025 | Figure |
|---|---|
| Appeared | 62,020 |
| Passed | 26,951 |
| Pass percentage | 43.46% |
Fewer than half of Rawalpindi’s Part 1 candidates cleared every paper in 2025. That was lower than every other Punjab board whose figures we have checked, including Lahore (53.77%), Gujranwala (49.95%) and Multan (59.98%).
Every group was below 56%
| Group, Part 1 2025 | Pass % |
|---|---|
| Pre-Engineering | 55.78% |
| Pre-Medical | 52.51% |
| General Science | 44.63% |
| Commerce | 40.84% |
| Humanities | 36.14% |
At most boards at least one science group passes above 65%. At Rawalpindi even the best group, Pre-Engineering, stayed near 56%.
No single paper to blame
| Subject, Part 1 2025 | Pass % |
|---|---|
| History of Pakistan | 64.02% |
| Mathematics | 66.38% |
| English | 70.18% |
| Chemistry | 70.90% |
| Physics | 71.80% |
| Biology | 72.49% |
| Statistics | 73.45% |
| Computer Science | 74.71% |
Other boards usually have one or two papers far below the rest. At Rawalpindi the main papers were all bunched between 64% and 75%. For an FSc student, that means one weak paper among Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics is common, and several students fall short in two.
A low Part 1 result is not the end
Most students who took Part 1 in 2025 sat their Part 2 exams in 2026, along with any Part 1 papers they had to repeat. That year the board’s 12th class pass rate was 60.08%, up from 54.12% in 2025, with 36,896 candidates passing. The group is not exactly the same, but the pattern is clear: many students who fall short in Part 1 recover by the final exam.
If you do not pass a paper in Part 1, you sit it again with your Part 2 exams and still move on to 12th class. The pass mark question for 2026 (33% or the new 40%) is covered on our 11th class result 2026 page.
Six districts, very different results
The 2026 12th class gazette gives a pass rate for each district:
| District | Pass %, 12th class 2026 |
|---|---|
| Talagang | 63.31% |
| Chakwal | 62.18% |
| Jhelum | 61.71% |
| Attock | 61.21% |
| Rawalpindi | 59.40% |
| Murree | 41.13% |
Talagang, one of the two newest districts, had the best pass rate, and four smaller districts finished ahead of Rawalpindi itself. Murree was more than 18 points behind the next district.
Regular and private candidates
In the same result, candidates from government and affiliated institutions both passed at about 67% to 68%, while private candidates passed at 38.86%. Female candidates passed at 67.56% and male candidates at 46.52%. If you are a private candidate with a weak Part 1 paper, give it a fixed place in your weekly study plan from the start of 12th class.
Rechecking
If a mark looks clearly wrong, apply for rechecking on biserawalpindi.edu.pk within the deadline in the board’s notice, usually about 15 days. Rechecking finds totalling errors and unmarked questions; it is not a fresh marking. Check the per-paper fee in the 2026 notice before you pay.

It is scheduled for 22 October 2026 at 10:00 AM, together with all Punjab boards. The board has not yet published a notice confirming it.
Are Murree and Talagang under the Rawalpindi Board?
Yes. The board covers six districts: Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree and Talagang.
Is Islamabad under BISE Rawalpindi?
No. Islamabad colleges take the Federal Board (FBISE) exams, which have their own result schedule.
Why was the Rawalpindi Part 1 pass rate so low last year?
The board’s figures do not give a reason. They show that every group passed below 56% and the main papers were all between 64% and 75%, so there was no single paper behind it.
Can I still pass Intermediate if my Part 1 result is weak?
Yes. Papers you do not pass are taken again with Part 2. The board’s 12th class pass rate in 2026 was 60.08%, much higher than the 43.46% Part 1 rate a year earlier.
